The Secret Show 2016-2017

Set in a different clandestine locations — from the hull of a decommissioned ship to the basement of a flower shop, The Secret Show was an immersive experience where 15 strangers shared their darkest secrets.

The atmosphere of each clandestine location contributed to the overall mystique and intimacy of The Secret Show. The hull of the decommissioned ship, with its rusted walls and faint echo of past voyages, set a tone of forgotten histories and hidden truths. Participants sat in a circle, the dim light casting long shadows that danced with the flickering lanterns. The eerie, metallic creaks of the ship seemed to punctuate each confession, amplifying the weight of the secrets shared. In this setting, the participants felt like sailors adrift on a sea of their own vulnerabilities, bonded by the shared act of revelation.

In contrast, the basement of the flower shop offered a different kind of seclusion. The scent of fresh blooms, mixed with the earthy aroma of the soil, created an incongruous yet comforting environment. The room was filled with the soft hum of refrigeration units and the occasional rustle of petals, providing a gentle backdrop to the emotional exchanges. Here, the juxtaposition of the vibrant life above and the hidden, shadowy basement below symbolized the duality of human experience—public facades masking private truths. Each participant, nestled among the vases and floral arrangements, found a unique solace in the shared honesty, as if the very flowers were bearing witness to their secrets and offering silent acceptance.
