Technical Rider
Please make sure a technical assistant is present to assist with sound/technical aspects as well as provide access to the necessary spaces.
Client shall provide, at the client’s expense, the following:
SOUND & LIGHTING
An AV technician on-site at least one hour prior to doors for sound check.
Even, consistent lighting sufficient for full visibility of Talent and participating audience members. House lights may need to be adjusted during the show to provide more light in the audience. For a more theatrical look, a basic stage wash with warm balanced colors works great (no blue light). Stage lights should be able to be adjusted to full, half and completely out.
House sound system must be suitable for clear speech reinforcement throughout the venue.
Provide a Radial StageBug SB-5 1-channel Passive Laptop Direct Box.
Access to an on stage outlet ideally on either side of the stage.
MICROPHONES
• Wireless bodypack (Shure-compatible, TA4F mini-XLR) for Talent’s DPA headset microphone; alternate connections can be accommodated if needed
• Passive DI (3.5mm to XLR)
• Two wireless handheld microphones with fresh batteries
• One straight, round-base mic stand (no boom arms)
• Please confirm the sound system can record a full program mix (music, headset, handhelds) to USB, or let me know what recording options are available
• Please note that there should be at least two Ushers in the audience with handheld mics to hand to audience members who will be speaking from their seats during a scene in the show.
STAGE & AUDIENCE SETUP
• For audiences over 100, an 8’ x 12’ stage/platform (approx. 12” high) is recommended for visibility; otherwise, a clear performance area of at least 8’ x 12’ is required.
• Seating should be no more than 7’ (feet) from the stage with an aisle down the middle if possible (unless there are public health restrictions).
• Talent must be able to move freely into the audience, and audience members must be able to easily access the stage. Easy access from the audience onto the stage is absolutely necessary. Please provide stairs that lead directly into the audience (the middle of the stage is preferred).
• No physical barriers between stage and audience
• Any podium used for prior speakers must be removed before the performance
• No food or beverage service, bar service, or major room noise during the performance
• A brief pause in service and full audience attention is requested prior to the start of the performance.
• One small round table or card table (no larger than 3’ x 3’) and three chairs. All chairs should be weight bearing and sturdy.
