Cut & Paste
When not performing, practicing or rehearsing new material I can be found in my room quietly cutting paper. I've formed a habit of collecting old photographs, advertisements, and various ephemera from my travels - laying them out on a table only to break them up into singular elements and rearrange them. It's become a way to focus my thoughts. There's something about it's organized chaos that allures me. The permanence of cutting paper, the complexity of layering, and the careful composition — all strangely fulfill my inner neurosis. Over the years I've created hundreds of collages which I've never had any intention of sharing. It really was my own form of meditation. But a friend recently convinced me otherwise. I might at some point share more in some form on this site but for now here is some of my work from over the years. Enjoy.
